Waffles – Gaufre

The easy and perfect recipe to prepare at home the Waffles -Gaufres typical of Belgium and Northern Europe.
The Waffles -Gaufres have a honeycomb shape obtained thanks to the special plate that you can find it in any kitchen store. "They're super easy to do."
Ingredients
- 200 g milk
- 500 g flour
- 3 tbsp white sugar
- 75 g brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 pinch of salt
- 2 whole eggs
- 6 g brewer's yeast
- 300 g butter
- 225 g sugar grains
Waffle or Gaufre
Known by these two names, it's a crispy waffle cake outside and soft inside.
Preparation
Step 1
To prepare the waffles/gaufre, in a bowl add a little milk (obtained from the 200 gr of the recipe) serves only to dissolve the brewer's yeast. Milk must be at room temperature. Melt the yeast add the remaining milk. Mix.
Step 2
Next, add the 2 eggs and brown sugar. Mix. Incorporate the flour, gradually and mix. The dough must remain smooth and homogeneous.
I've done it all by hand, but if you have the planetarium/kneading machine at home, you can do everything there directly.
Step 3
Incorporate the butter into the dough. Mix well. Cover the dough and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Step 4
After the hour add the sugar grain and stir.
Step 5
Form balls and let rise 15 minutes before cooking them.
Conservation
You can store waffles/gaufres in a closed bag for up to 2 days or freeze them.
