The basic recipe of Sponge Cake, requires a lot of attention when mixing the ingredients, to obtain a perfect, soft and soft result.

  • 115 g flour
  • 30 g butter
  • 4 whole eggs
  • 1 egg yolk
  • Vanilla
  • 50 g corn starch

Sponge Cake

The secret of the Sponge Cake lies in incorporating flour.



Step 1
Pour the eggs and egg yolk into a bowl. Transfer everything to the planetarium jar, then add the caster sugar, vanilla and whipped, until you get a clear and foamy mixture.

Meanwhile sift the flour over the baking paper or where you are most comfortable. Turn off and add the flour to the mixture, stirring gently from the bottom to the top.

Step 3

Apart from that, melt the butter in a bowl and add a little mounted mixture and stir. Then add the butter to the rest of the Sponge Cake mixture and mix everything well.

Step 4

Butter a baking tray, sprinkle with a little flour and spread the mounted mixture.

Bake and cook the Sponge Cake at 180°C for 30 minutes.

Once cooked, bake it and let it warm.


1.Once prepared, it will remain soft for 2 days. To store it, you will only have to wrap it in the film, from cold and leave it in a place at room temperature.
2.If desired, you can also freeze it wrapped in film, to be consumed no later than one month after preparation.
3.When thawing sponge cake, be careful not to apply much force, it can break with ease.
